A load of water will need to be put into the water tank on completion. The amount of water required will depend on the size of the water tank installed. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss how much water is required (0492 177 991). If you are unable to arrange this, let us know so we can organise and charge accordingly. Approximately 10% of the tanks capacity will be needed on the installation day at the customers expense. Failure to do so may void your warranty. We will give you as much notice as possible so it can be arranged.
Your tank pad needs to be 2m larger in diameter than your chosen tank's diameter. Eg: (TANK CT25 7.84m PAD minimum 9.84m).
Crusher dust or clean sand. Concrete pads can also be used but please notify us of that as it will need to be quoted differently.
A form of blue metal aggregate (+20mm) will need to be placed around the tank base by the customer after the installation. This helps protect the tank base underneath from washing away. Customers should look to maintain the tank site every 3 months.

Water Tank Solutions are proud to use premium products, this is why we decided to use Bartlett Tank Liners. Local to us in Ballarat Victoria, Bartlett Tank Liners is one of the largest manufacturers of water tank liners in Australia. Bartlett Tank Liners has been developed exclusively for the use of a water tank liner, the fabric used has proven qualities to meet every customer’s requirements:
SAFE: AS/NZS 4020 approved and BPA free.
STRENGTH: The liner we use contains woven polyethylene weaves for extra strength. As we found that the unsupported liners stretch.
INTEGRITY: Bartlett Tank Liners have produced a double seal tape welded seam exclusive to the tank liner we use. The seal tape not only adds integrity but it is also an extra barrier to protect against the intrusion of termites and tree roots.
PEACE OF MIND: Bartlett Tank Liners come with a 10 year conditional manufacturers warranty. The liner we use comes with a higher life expectancy and has been known to be in commission after 20 years.
LINER STRENGTH: Bartlett Tank Liners go through extensive testing to ensure a premium quality product. As you can see in a water pressure test below, the Bartlett Tank Liner remains in its original shape at a high head pressure level, an unsupported liner would likely stretch, affecting the overall integrity of the liner.
The double seal weld tape is exclusive to Bartlett Tank Liners. It’s purpose is to increase protection against termite damage and tree root intrusion, this weld seal tape also adds additional security and integrity of the liner.
As you can see below, Bartlett Tank Liners discovered the need for this weld seal tape after these occurrences.

We highly recommend following our Pad Preparation guide. This will ensure no delays on the day of installation.
Prepare a tank pad with crusher dust, 2 metres larger in diameter than the chosen tank (4 metres larger for a HGT375). The tank pad will need to be at least 150mm thick and clear of any vegetation, tree roots etc. Ensure these are completely removed with no chance of growing back.
The preferred base material must be below 5mm whether its sand or crusher dust, free of any sharp objects, clay lumps stones etc.
Important: your tank pad must be level – please double check before arrival of our team.
If a site cut has been performed, or cut into an incline and filled, ensure that there is adequate compaction. Adequate drainage will also be needed to divert water away from the tank.
Please Note: Pad preparation must meet these standards. If necessary, for our installers to leave site and reschedule a new installation date due to the site not being prepared to the above specifications, additional charges (travel, wages accommodation etc) will apply.
10% of water must be placed in the tank, after installation. This is to be supplied by the purchaser. Please let us know if you would like us to organise your water (Additional charges will apply). if no water is supplied after installation, this will void your warranty.
If prior arrangement of fitting locations has not been made, please ensure someone is available onsite to advise where the fittings need to be placed on the water tank.
Full payment of the tank and our services must be made on the day of install.
75mm thick x 400mm Blue Metal or Crushed Rock (3/4 or 20mm) will need to be placed around the total circumference of the tank base. This is required to stop erosion from water run off or strong wind (If Blue Metal is not placed around the tank after installation, this will void your warranty). If you have any questions as to how much material is required, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
